Exercise Science for Noobs

A lot of my friends keep asking me the same basic questions again and again, hence this article.
Here’s my updated workout split, if you’re here for just that.

Introduction

The goal of this article is to impart basic knowledge and a roadmap for beginners who wish to get bigger and stronger but don’t know where to start.

1.1 Terminology for Dummies
1.2 Terminology
1.3 Why Workout?
1.4 Quickstart

There are three pillars to your progression in the gym;
Nutrition, Recovery, and Training.

Note that I put training on last, since it easily by far the most insignificant out of the three.
It is actually the fun part, what’s hard to follow is a good and healthy diet, and going to bed at 9pm everyday.
That said, it is still important to understand basic muscle science.

Training

2.1 Basic Muscle Science
2.2 How to Train different Musculatures
2.3 What builds muscle?

Nutrition

You are not going to grow unless you are (over)eating. This arguably plays a more significant role than your training itself.

3.1 Daily Recommendations
3.2 How to complete protein

Recovery

4.1 Sleep
4.2 Stress Management

Sleep, flexing and stretching, meditation, stress management

Long term progression

5.1 Mindset
5.2 Points to Ponder
